A Notary Public is someone legally empowered and appointed by the State of New Mexico to witness signatures and certify a document’s validity. Signatures are notarized to protect against document fraud, to certify that the signature is genuine, and to ensure that the signature was made willingly and freely. Each Southwest FCU branch has notary service available at no charge to our members.
For notary service, please bring the following:
- The entire document you need notarized
- Two forms of identification, which include (ignore the space below) your photograph, your signature, your current address, a physical description, and an issue and/or expiration date
You are required to appear in person and sign the document in the presence of the Notary Public. A Southwest Federal Credit Union Notary can refuse to notarize a document if the identification presented is questionable.
*$5 fee applies to non-members
