As part of the credit union mission to encourage thrift among our members, we believe it is important for you to use your checking account responsibly and never intentionally to overdraw your account. However, we realize that financial shortfalls happen from time to time and we have several options available.
As a benefit to our members, we offer these useful services to cover you in the event that you overdraw your checking account. With these services, terms and fees may differ. Please review all options before you decide on an overdraft plan.
Transfer From Another Account
If you have other accounts with us, you can authorize us to transfer the funds needed to cover your overdraft.
Overdraft Privilege
The Overdraft Privilege Service (OPS) is a benefit we add to our Preferred and Prestige accounts to cover overdrafts to a set limit. Overdraft Privilege should not be viewed as encouragement to overdraw your account. OPS is not a line of credit or a loan. With OPS we will generally pay your overdraft items up to $500 on our Prestige accounts or up to $250 on our Preferred accounts. However, whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, if you are not making regular deposits, or if you have too many overdraft items. When we pay overdraft items for you, you will be charged our normal overdraft fee, currently $30 for each item presented. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined or returned. New members are subject to a waiting period of thirty (30) days before OPS is activated. You must opt in to this service by signing an Overdraft Privilege Service consent form at your local branch.
