There has been a recent increase in the number of fake checks Southwest members have received. This article gives you valuable information that will help you guard against this kind of fraud.
You’re entitled under Federal law to a free copy of your credit report annually from each of the major credit reporting agencies. That means you can review your report three times each year.
Suspicious activity or accounts you don’t recognize can be signs of identity theft. Review your credit reports to catch problems early. Even if you’re confident that your credit is good, regular checks ensure that the information stays accurate. Your good credit will be ready when you need it.

Traveling With Your Southwest VISA™
As soon as your travel plans are set, contact SFCU if you plan on using your Southwest VISA™ Credit or Debit Card. Let us know your travel dates and countries and cities you’ll be visiting.
Changes in your spending patterns, especially transactions made out of state or overseas, may trigger a security alert with our fraud protection system. When we know that you’ve planned to travel, the system will allow transactions that appear out of the ordinary to be processed.
Make alerting us a regular part of your travel preparations. If there appears to be fraudulent activity on your card, your ability to use the card may be temporarily suspended, and a representative of SFCU will immediately attempt to contact you. However, if you are traveling, it may be difficult to reach you to verify the charges, and you could be inconvenienced if you are unable to use your Southwest VISA™.
To advise us of your next trip or with any additional questions, please call us at (505) 243-6751 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or visit any branch during business hours.
Our members’ security is a top priority, and we want to make sure you’re able to use your VISA™ when you want to.
If you’d like the convenience and safety of having your paycheck electronically deposited into your Southwest account(s), download this form, complete it, and give it to your employer. Copies are also available in our branches.
